I'm a kind, sincere individual who can be goofy at times and intensely passionate and driven at others. I value honesty, humor, strong character and open-mindedness. I think deeply about things, but try not to take my life or the world around me too seriously. I've been successful in my career but don't value success or material wealth as I do the people and experiences that have shaped my life. I have two dogs that I love immensely. Animals have always been a big part of my life. Another big part of my life is music. I often think in song titles. Beyond listening to music, I've played drums since I was a child and come from a musical background.

I identify strongly with eastern philosophy, having practiced Zen Buddhism for a number of years. It's a means by which I work to stay in the present moment. In some ways it really is that simple. In others, it's very profound. But overall, I view it as a personal choice. I don't preach about it or other such choices. I value the same in others.

Professionally, I work in the field of strategic alliances in the information technology industry. In other words, I schmooze for a living. My short- to mid-term “career” goal is to transition into a role that would allow me to apply these skills in a way that truly makes a difference. Lobbying for changes to animal welfare laws would rank high among these options. I hope to connect with other zaadzsters who can offer ideas and guidance along these lines.
